It was a busy first assembly of the year for the student body at Hillcrest Friday afternoon.

Student Council President Ali Randolph was officially sworn in, the cheerleaders provided spirit, teams were introduced, and things came to a close with the “We are Hillcrest” chant.

“It was a great way to open the school year.  I’m really proud of the Cabinet, they got me really excited, ” said senior Devon Tibbetts.

In addition to promotion of the fall sports, junior Dorial Green was recognized as the nation’s top high school athlete, an honor bestowed on him during the summer by MaxPreps, which covers high school athletics from coast to coast.

Videos produced by the Cabinet were also a hit.  “I thought the technology aspect was very good. I liked all of the videos a lot,” said senior Paige Rogers.
