A Yellowjacket is now taking care of the Hornets.
Matt Shea, a 2005 graduate of Lebanon High School who used to cheer on the ‘Jackets, is now the Site Technology Support Specialist at Hillcrest. He started a few weeks ago, and he says the transition from working with elementary and middle schools has been smooth.
“Everyone’s been really friendly here, that’s my first impression. Everyone’s down to earth,” said Shea. It’s his first time working at a high school, and while he admits it’s different, he also said, “I like it.”
His responsibilities include working on reformatting the computer labs, installing software, and troubleshooting teacher computer issues. “I help students with software issues, making sure the anti-virus is up to date, and little things here and there.”
Shea says he began “doing computer stuff” when he was a kid, and he has stayed interested ever since. Before he arrived at Hillcrest, he was in the Air Force Reserve and even did some telemarketing. He has a two-year degree from Ozarks Technical College in Springfield.
