And So It Ends…

Graduation: it’s a word that inspires a wistful look and the hallelujah chorus. It’s a shameless tease, residing so close to me, yet still feels far away. If only I could get the “English Paper That Refuses To Die” out of my life for good, the last enemy to be defeated before I check out completely. Finals, schminals. It’s not like they matter. . . right?

Though I’m a tad stressed at this present moment, I can say in all seriousness that my senior year at Hillcrest has been a good one. It has been an honor to serve as the Hillcrest website’s Editor in Chief. Thank you to everyone for your support and help during the website’s first year. The whole endeavor would have been an epic fail without everyone’s feedback and communication. I’ve loved getting to know more students and teachers and learning about all the different aspects of our school.

Next year there will be two Co- Editors- in- Chief, Paige Moffis and Dylan Walker. They will most assuredly surpass me in every way as editors, and the “online newspaper” will only get better. Hillcrest staff and students, have a wonderful last few weeks of school, and an even more fantastic summer!

Long Time No See

Wow. It is kind of hard to believe that first semester is almost ever, and that I have only posted in the editor’s column once. Sorry about that. However I am sure you, the people of Hillcrest, are more interested in what you are doing than what I have to blab about.

It has been a fun few months, and I feel pretty confident in saying the Hillcrest site has been a success so far (crosses fingers). I have really loved getting to discover parts of the school I never knew existed, and all the sweet things that go down here. But I have especially loved meeting and talking to people I might have never come in contact with. Each one of you is  important to the student body and staff, and I would like to say thank you for all the support you have given.

One feature we are hoping to improve on is the videos. Expect to see more videos of more activities coming up with the new year. I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season, and I hope to hear from you soon.

We Have Lift-Off

Welcome to Hillcrest’s first-ever, online newspaper. I am your editor, Chelsea Peebles, and on behalf of the “HTV Magazine” staff, I would like to say how glad we are you stopped by.

This site has been in the planning stages since since last spring. It is our goal to provide up-to-date Hillcrest news everyday, but more than that, we want this site to be about you, the Hillcrest students and staff. We are not here to feature the same seven kids week after week. We want to know the many things going on at our school, and the many people that never get their much-deserved recognition.

It is everyone’s turn to have the spotlight, but we need your help. Let us know about any cool clubs, class activities, or even fundraisers you’re involved in. Share your photos with us. Give us a head’s up when a super duper, awesome, don’t-miss-this-no-matter-what, sweet event is about to take place. Okay, sorry. I slipped into my “hyperbole mode” there.

And remember, since we are a TV staff, as well as the people behind hillcresthornets.org, this site will include tons of video clips, in addition to the stories and photo galleries.

Remember to check back with us regularly as this online news source evolves in the weeks and months ahead. We hope to hear from you soon.
